WHAT IS A DUCTLESS MINI-SPLIT SYSTEM?

Unlike a traditional split central HVAC system, a ductless mini split does not rely on ductwork. The outdoor unit is connected to indoor by a conduit containing refrigerant and power lines.

Here are the advantages of this type of system. A mini-split system can decrease your cooling costs by 30 percent, compared to traditional air conditioning. The system is able to limit energy use because it uses compressors and fans to regulate cooling speeds.

Because there are no ducts on split systems, you won’t have the energy loss involved with ducted systems like central air or heating.
